THE GORGEOUS FINGER LAKES, NEW YORK

We left Saratoga Springs (so busy for the August track season) to spend a month in the Finger Lakes area of Northwestern New York. Our RV site looks out at Cayuga Lake. The whole area is incredibly gorgeous -- 13 lakes, 29 state parks,  rolling hills of farmland, non-stop wineries and 13 beautiful lakes that elongate like the fingers on a hand. This is an incredible area for biking and hiking.

The wine industry here has become even more popular than Napa Valley.  It seems that sulphur in the soil makes for excellent wine grape growing.  The wineries provide entertainment, libations and, of course, wine tasting.

We biked the incredible Cornell campus.  Huge, high in the hills above Ithaca, beautiful old stone buildings.  There's a lot of culture here due to the presence of Cornell and Ithaca State College and the bustling wine industry.  The combination fo Saratoga Springs and Finger Lakes makes the perfect summer get-a-way from hot Florida.

REMEMBER TO PAN BACK AND FORTH ON THE PHOTOS TO GET A FULL VIEW.
